I am 17 years old and a self-taught wildlife photographer. I have been taking photographs since September 2007, and I live in Haydon Bridge in Northumberland, England. I hope to study zoology at university, and I aspire to become a broadcasting naturalist, following in the footsteps of Sir David Attenborough and Steve Backshall. In August 2009, I went on an expedition to Ethiopia for two weeks. We trekked through the Bale Mountains, reaching heights of 3800 metres, and renovated a school for an isolated community. In 2012, I took part in another expedition to the Borneo rainforest. Whilst there we constructed a jungle shelter which is part of a group of shelters on a tourist trail. The aim of these is to prove that the local people still make use of the rainforest, and so hopefully defend it against logging companies.
